Hi Everyone,

What Kerri and I have in our script of the Board Report doesn’t differ too much from Angelica’s list above. But we are incorporating New Board Member Announcements and Retiring Board Members into the Nominating Committee section. Therefore, I suggest that Ed joins us in doing that.

Ed, this would just be an announcement that Michelle Diggs and Mary Halverson-Waldo will be ending their terms with the Board. There is also a courteous acknowledgement of Sayedah Ahmed and the other Board members who served for a portion of this last fiscal year.

Kerri and I had a great conversation with Michelle today, and she sends her love. She will write a formal email about her departure, but in short, her work as Co-Chair of the 3M Black Leadership Advancement Committee (BLAC) requires a large number of hours per week. She is also going to be serving as Chair of this committee in 2023. So she is not able to devote the number of hours required for SAA Board work at this point. However, she says she is always (and very seriously!) available as a resource for us, and that she would be interested in serving the SAA in some other capacity like an advisory committee or something. Which I think would be great! Perhaps she would be willing to stay on and work with the Inclusion Committee and Nwandi Lawson? Something to consider.

Hi Kerri,

Apologies if I misunderstood or spoke too soon. We discussed Board roles for the presentation at the AGM at the last Board meeting (in July), so I just filled in details based on my notes from the last meeting. If you and Ellen see those changing, I’m very happy to adjust the Run of Show as necessary! My notes show that Ed would be sharing the any retired board members, and Bruce announcing new board members, and Mary reading out details for trainers, etc.! But again, I am happy with anything you all see fit. I just wanted to share out what was discussed last meeting! Please feel free to let me know if I misunderstood the last meeting! I know you all have done this before – happy to adjust as needed.
I am happy with anything here. Let me know what role you’d like me to play moving forward!
Best,
AC

Hi Angelica,

Ellen and I were working on the script for the Board report this morning, which included my Nominating Committee report. That included acknowledgements of any who served this fiscal year, Board members rolling off, those appointed, and those elected. Although we hadn’t discussed the distribution of Board participation for the AGM, I am happy to share the responsibilities of reporting this information. Below is the latest script draft.

Thanks, Angelica,
I’m working on a succinct report about the E.D. Search Process. Will get in in asap.
Also, did you mention the possible provision of a script for me, re the awards for Certificate of Achievement?
Thanks to all on the team!
Mary

Hi all,

I hope all is well with you this Monday! Hi from Boulder – I’m here with the team (including Christie!) Below is a run of show / agenda for the Annual General Meeting.
Below is the Agenda for the Annual General Meeting, so that you have an understanding of how the meeting will run. I have also attached my presentation to give you an idea of what I will be sharing. Ellen is working on the script for all board materials, as well!
Best,
Angelica
Remaining Tasks:
  • ALL – Please confirm receipt of this email & confirm if you are comfortable with your role
    • If you have any questions or need me to make edits, please let me know!
  • Ellen & Kerri will send us any additional scripts
  • Ellen, Kerri, and Mary – can you please let me know where you would like the Board Search Process presentation to go? My instinct is to put it in the Board Report section, but let me know if you would like it elsewhere.
  • Ellen & Kerri – please let me know if you would like the Teacher Trainer names read aloud and if Mary is the right person to read the names (I’ve listed it below, just in case, but if you would rather we not do this, please let me know!
  • Angelica will prepare for an announcement to go up on the website for new Board Appointees & Electees based on Kerri’s Nominating Committee update
  •  Andrea (if you don’t mind! 🙂 )  will share this information with our wonderful volunteers who have kindly offered to translate for us during the session.
Thanks all.
Best,
