In an interview on the Speaking Soundly podcast violinist, chef, and best-selling author Kenji López-Alt talks fondly about his early musical experiences with the Suzuki Method. Here is a short excerpt:

“I find the Suzuki method to be pretty special. It teaches you to appreciate and to understand music before you can even read it. It’s kind of like how you can learn to speak to someone without understanding the intricacies of grammar. Without knowing how to spell words, and that’s just because you do it, you practice it, and you apply it.”

News from the ISA

The ISA is announcing  the addition of explanatory graphs to the Kendall Teaching Videos Archive! The ISA is indebted to Dr. Brian Buckstead for permitting his research on the teaching techniques of Suzuki Method pioneer John Kendall to be posted on this website. His illustrations provide a valuable visual resource to the aural presentation in the Kendall Teaching Videos.
