Dear Angelica and Erin!
We have just discovered that a Suzuki Philosophy course, created by Renata Pereira, is already underway. But it has not been approved by either AMSBrasil or SAA. Until right now, it was still listed in the course approval system.
It is scheduled to take place starting on July 29th (in other words, it has already started).
As said above, it has not been approved by AMSBrasil because the association did not receive an email with information about the course, which is standard for any organizer who wants to hold a course in Brazil. In fact, we searched our inbox very carefully to see if we had missed any messages, and there is nothing there.
The rules for approving courses have been clear and well-established in Brazil for many years, and you have even received a copy of the document that governs course organizers in Brazil.
We have just accessed the approval system and came across the course with an open approval request. I ended up clicking the course rejection button and, as a result, I rejected it. It might have been more prudent to have talked to you beforehand, but I didn’t know that once you click the button, there is no going back.
Anyway, AMSBrasil is a partner of SAA in this regard, as it has helped to take care of the courses in Portuguese, assisting organizers and registrants. A difficult task in a huge country with so much diversity. We would greatly appreciate finding a solution for this case and a lasting solution to prevent similar actions in the future.
How can we deal with this specific situation? On our part, it remains canceled. But we are concerned about the registrants, about their situation. So, we are open to the dialogue with you. If necessary, we could schedule a team meeting with you.
Thank you in advance,

Araceli

PS.: All AMSBrasil directors are copied in, as we are working together to find the best solution.
