Dear Ms. Rushforth,

My name is Luiz, it is a pleasure to be in contact with you! During the pandemic I worked with Angelica in translating a few of the SAA online sessions through Zoom, and I believe we might have briefly met each other in one of those sessions. This email will be quite long, I much appreciate your time and helpfulness!

I’m writing you this e-mail because I have been in contact with Raphael Egídio, director of Brasília Suzuki School (Centro Suzuki de Brasília) regarding my registration for the Book 4 Teaching Course with Ed Kreitman in Brazil this coming July. I’m attaching a screenshot that shows that the SAA website wasn’t allowing me to register for the course. I believe it is because there’s no Book 2 registered in my records due to some technical issues.

In 2023, I was invited by the Goiânia Suzuki School (Centro Suzuki Goiânia) to translate the Book 1 and 2 training courses ministered by James Hutchins. The same we did the following year (2024) for books 3 and 4. However, for some reason, Books 1, 3 and 4 were registered in my SAA records, but not Book 2. If there is any additional information that I can provide to you, I will promptly do so!
The following part of this email, I’ll share the issues I had with registering my Long-Term Suzuki Program at the University of New Mexico in my SAA records. It might also be the reason I’m having the technical difficulties at my account:

In 2018, I started the Master’s program at UNM for violin performance, viola performance, and string pedagogy. The string pedagogy masters was directed by Susan Kempter, and it worked in a way that we would sign up for the String Pedagogy Class that was being offered that semester, even if it didn’t start with Book 1. We would learn two books simultaneously, eventually catching it up to all Suzuki books at the end of the master course. It all worked great for Fall 2018 and Spring 2019. At the spring semester, Ms. Kempter had a family emergency with her husband, and due to emotional challenges, she had to retire from UNM. Therefore, I had done String Pedagogy Class I and II, but the UNM Faculty was trying to figure out how we could finish the program. At the Fall 2020, Megan Holland, who had studied with Susan, but isn’t a teacher trainer, was invited to teach String Pedagogy Class III and IV, which we studied Books 1 – 4. However, even though Ms. Kempter attended lots of the classes and thought together with Ms. Holland, she had been officially retired, so no one was sure if we would actually be able to register those trainings in our SAA records. Please find attached to this email my UNM transcript, where you can find the String Pedagogy Classes I had taken.
