Dear Pam:
Thank you so much for your response! I just want to let you know that this first text is 375 words long; I hope that’s ok for this first short article. It’s being translated as we speak.
Do I have to send it to you, with the translations? Or do I have to send this material to another e-mail address?
Have an excellent week!
Andrea

Andrea,
I wrote this response to you on Friday, but didn’t send it. I think you’ve answered everything now, but I wanted you to know that I considered your questions!
Thanks,
Pam
Hello, Andrea,
So very glad you’re willing to help with this!!
Our next SAA newsletter (ShortScore) is just a week away, and I’d really love to have an article. Will it be a description of the Committee’s overall projects?  That would be excellent!
I understand that some months you might not have much news, so that would be OK, but frequent updates will be very good to receive.
The ShortScore Newsletter pushes some part of longer articles over to the website, where there’s lots of space.  So I would say about 50 words for brief updates, and for longer ones, with photos, maybe 300 words. Occasionally they could be longer.
We often put Festival articles in the Journal, so longer ones could still be placed in the Journal and also on the website.
Perhaps you could include special events and celebrations, milestones in membership growth, and when the topic is about forming new associations, please describe major developments in the process.   Probably of less interest are listings of courses being offered unless it’s a first time for a new instrument area, perhaps.
Let’s see how it goes for a few months, then make any needed adjustments!
Can we do these in Spanish and English both?  or Portuguese, where needed?
We are trying  harder to provide our other languages in our publications.
I am so please about the project and your role in helping us spread the news!
Thanks,
Pam

Dear Pam:
It is a great pleasure to greet you on this occasion. I hope you and all your family are fine and well.
As Caroline mentioned on a previous e-mail, today we had a meeting with the Latin American Associations Committee and I will be responsible of writing for the Newsletter.
This afternoon I am going to work on the first text, informing that the Committee has been meeting regularly; also, that the Newsletter will have news from each Latin American country, and also inviting the associations / networks of each country to send information in order to continue writing each month for the Newsletter.
Pam, could you please help me with some questions?
  1.  How long should each text be?
  2. What information should it contain?
  3. Is it possible to include photos and videos?
Thank you so much for your attention.
All the best,
Andrea
