Hi, Leslie, Fabio, and Araceli,
SAA is providing a grant to the SECE Committee that will allow any or all Latin American teachers who qualify as SAA members and have taken at least one Stage of SECE training to participate in SECE Curriculum Revision Courses at no cost. We believe it is important that every teacher participate in this course as significant changes have been made to the SECE materials and repertoire.
SECE Trainers Sharon Jones and Lynn McCall will be teaching these courses; the grant will allow up to 4 presentations of this 5-hour course — 2 translated into Portuguese and 2 translated into Spanish.
I am writing to ask that you host the courses. This would include registrations, roster creation and finalization, and Zoom setup and support. No collection of fees will be needed. The course will be registered in participants’ SAA profiles. The possibility to host the course could, of course, be passed to a program/studio that is an association member.
SAA will provide the list of eligible teachers and send notifications of this opportunity to all eligible Latin American teachers. The SAA grant will cover the compensation for the trainers, who will work in pairs to present the material.
I am copying this to Sharon and Lynn. They have set up tentative times and dates pending final hosting situations. Please send your questions and thoughts!
Thank you for considering this opportunity to help promote SECE within your associations and as well as for other SECE teachers outside of Mexico and Brazil.
