The Association in Brazil has requested approval of an introductory course in Suzuki Accordion, to be offered online by Elena Enrico.

This would have to be approved by the ESA region first. Since Accordion is a Study Group and has not yet been approved as a Suzuki Instrument Area, unit training cannot be offered. The repertoire proposed has not been approved and no official international committee has been established. I’m also not clear on Elena’s status as an ESA Trainer, or whether similar trainings are being offered in the ESA region.

If it were offered as an introductory session to introduce Elena’s teaching ideas and student accomplishments, it might qualify for SAA recognition and approval as an Enrichment opportunity. Enrichments may not include specific Suzuki pedagogy.  It might generate interest in other countries.  

Please share your views on this as soon as possible. The Association expects to have outside funding to support this effort, if it were approved and announced soon.
